The Circle of Death
The Circle of Death. The central Pyrenees from Col d’Aubisque to Bagneres-de-Luchon.
Among the most fearsome and legendary roads in the world. For cycling and Le Tour de France they don’t come any more famous or fearsome than the Circle of Death. Col d’Aubisque, Col du Soulor, Col du Tourmalet, Col d’Aspin and Col de Peyresourde. These were all in the first high mountain stage of le Tour de France in 1910. They have been regulars for Le Tour ever since. 2015 will be 84 time Le Tour has visited Col du Tourmalet. With over 10 more Cat HC or Cat 1 Tour de France climbs in the area it is the premier destination for cyclists in the Pyrenees.
